Leviticus: Be holy, for I am holy (Part 2)

Sunday, 5 April 2020 // God's Story: Old Testament

Description

Marriage, Birth, Adoption.

What do they have in common? Last names.

They are about one party taking in another, sharing with them their identity, and becoming one and the same, to be of the same family. This means that you must now live up to the name that you now bear.

Bearing a family's crest means upholding a certain kind of dignity. Even more so when you bear a royal regalia – like God's.

God spoke to Israel, “You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy” (Leviticus 19:2). God expects His people to live a life that reflects God’s holy and righteous character.

Will you be holy?
