We are getting married! And we'd like to invite you to be part of this important occasion. We believe that marriage is a lifelong commitment before God as the Bible says:

“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church."

Ephesians 5:31-32

So, we would be honoured if you would be here to witness our commitment to each other and to God. We hope to see you there! There will also be a lunch reception after the ceremony.

Our Story

We first met on the church staircase when we were walking on our way to our pastor’s house for membership course back in 2013. What was most significant about membership course was not so much that it was the place where our friendship began, but rather that it was there where we had a deeper understanding of God’s plan of saving sinners through His son Jesus, who died on the cross so that we can be His holy people. This good news helped us grasp what it really meant to follow Jesus and to have a committed love for the members of God’s church. Looking back, it was really this understanding of Christianity that was the foundation of our relationship and our commitment to one another.

Now little did we know, we were both also studying in IMU! We got to know each other better as we were both actively serving God in our church and our university Christian Fellowship.

It was at that time where we both contemplated God’s plan for our lives: whether to remain single or to get married.

During then, I (David) was listening to CERC’s “Relationships” sermon series and found it very helpful in understanding marriage and what God’s plan was for me. After listening to the entire thing (twice!), I finally had the clarity and courage to ask Emerlyn out. And so we started dating in May 2015. Now, after many years of knowing each other, we have decided to commit ourselves to serve God’s kingdom as lifelong partners and we would love for you to share in our joy as we celebrate this special day and how His story has really transformed our lives.
