CERC celebrates Zach and Paige’s wedding

Members of CERC, Zachary Liew and Paige Ong, were officially wed on 18.11.2023, in the presence of the church, their friends and family, as witnesses to the holy matrimony.

CERC weddings are evangelistic in nature. Everyone is welcome to observe the marriage in a public ceremony and to hear the Gospel preached.

The couple chose Luke 18:9-14 as the passage preached in the wedding sermon: like the tax collector, Zachary and Paige hope to publicly reflect their posture in recognising their sin and depravity. As sinners saved by a holy God, the couple hopes to share God’s holy love and grace in rescuing sinners like themselves.

In the presence of their friends and family, Zachary prayed in his public prayer that both Paige and himself would continue in a life of sacrifice and commitment of marriage, to the service of the church.

“Our wedding isn’t the start of a happily-ever-after… We know both laughs and tears are part of the married life to come,” wrote Zachary and Paige in their wedding booklet. “Yet we trust in His mercy to keep going, as it is Christ’s righteous rule that gives us grace to keep the vows we will make before you all.”

The church celebrated this wedding with joy and festivity. We pray for the couple to have a fruitful and godly lifelong matrimony ahead.
